The Rochester Labor Council is going to Labor Notes!
What is the Labor Notes Conference? Labor Notes Conferences are the biggest gatherings of grassroots union activists, union reformers, and all-around troublemakers out there! Every other year thousands of union leaders, members and activists gather to share ideas, learn from one another, debate the major moments of the day and build a stronger, more militant labor movement. Hundreds of meetings and workshops will take place in Chicago from April 19th to 21st this year.

How do I attend the Conference? Unfortunately, the Rochester Labor Council isn't able to cover the full costs for a group of attendees. We know that many people from Rochester will attend the conference already and others might if there is some assistance. To attend, you'll need to register yourself and arrange your own accommodations (whether by yourself or through your union). The conference is being held at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago. They are booked up already. But there are many hotels in the immediate vicinity that have openings.
What is the Rochester Labor Council offering? In hopes of supporting those planning to attend and to build community among those attending from Rochester, the Labor Council is going to provide an option for transportation. We will cover the costs and logistics of sending a shuttle van to the conference. There are 11 seats available and you can request a seat here.
What are the details?
- We will leave early morning on Thursday April 18th and arrive in Chicago on Thursday night. This means having accommodations arranged for Thursday night. The conference begins early on Friday.
- We will return home early morning on Monday April 22nd and arrive back in Rochester on Monday night.
- The drive will take around 10-11 hours, but will be filled with fun conversation, great music and inspiring local unionists!
